Tips On How To Get The Look

- Classic Easy Red Lip Look: Do your makeup base as you would normally, I love to use a soft matte foundation to give the Valentine’s Day makeup look a soft filter to the skin. Catrice’s HD Liquid Coverage Foundation would be a wonderful vegan, affordable option.

Add some pink or red blush to the apples of your cheeks (whatever is best on your skin tone), Catrice’s Soft Glam Baked Blush in “On Cloud Pink” is a beautiful. Swipe a nude shadow on your eyes to keep in bare, but add some lengthening mascara to your lashes.

Next is the step to bring it all together, the classic red lip! I actually prefer to use a nude lip liner for red lips, so I will go in with one of my favorite nude lip liner, Catrice’s Plumping Lip Liner in the shade “Understated Chic” and perfect the lip shape before going in with the red lipstick.

Catrice’s Scandalous Matte Lipstick in the color “”090 Blame the Night” is Valentine’s Day in a tube! Use the bullet or take a lip brush to get the shape perfect and there you have it. - Feminine Pink Pop Makeup Look: I think we all can collectively say we love Rihanna and I am constantly inspired by her and her makeup artist, Priscilla Ono. They just posted this fresh Valentine’s look and I will definitely be recreating it. This look’s focus is also the lips, I think Valentine’s is a very lip forward makeup day.

For the eyes, put a slight shimmer shadow on, The Electric Rose Eyeshadow Palette from Catrice would be a beautiful palette for this look. Add some definition to the crease and bottom lash line by taking a deeper rose shade and blending. Pair with a peachy pink blush, I’d choose Catrice’s Blush Affair in “Pleasing Pink”, it gently glides on the cheeks and the color can be built up and blended nicely. Next is the star of the show, the lips! Outline and slightly overdraw your lip line using Catrice’s Plumping Lip Liner in “060 Cheers to Life” (slightly darker than the lip color will be, which gives a defined lip effect), then place the vibrant pink lipstick in the center of the lips, Catrice’s Scandalous Matte Lipsticks in “080 Casually Overdressed” or “070 Go Bold or Go Home” would both be great pink pops on the lips for this look.

Why is it a good look for Valentine's Day?

-          I am inspired by several looks for Valentine’s Day, the day of amor! I love a good classic red lip with a clean face, I think that’s simple, but still brings in components of Valentine’s Day (red, love, pinks, chocolates, flowers). It’s also easy to achieve and wearable for everyone no matter the skin tone or age. I also love to do pink looks for Valentines Day. I think adding pinks on your eyes and mouth is so feminine, gorgeous and perfect for Valentines Day. Soft or bright pinks, with a bit of shimmer on the eyes, paired with a pink pout is to die for.
