Glass Skin
What makes glass skin different from other skin trends?
- Glass skin is different from other skin trends in that in really relies on skin products, hydration levels, and facial massage, more so than a certain combination of makeup products. That being said, there are makeup techniques to enhance the glass skin look. I would also add that maintaining a hyper reflective skin look, is more maintenance if you want to keep it looking like that all day. If may look greasy or too shiny, if not properly touched up throughout the day.
Are there any methods or techniques when it comes to application that helps create the glass skin look?

- Yes! There are definitely methods and techniques when it comes to application that help create the glass skin. Skincare is the upmost importance. Cleanse your skin and pat dry, then go in with a toner, to follow with a hydrating serum. I have extremely dry sky, so I’ll follow with a facial oil and a moisturizer, if you have normal/oily skin, you do not need to do both, unless you want extra hydration to the skin. On the moisturizer step, really work it into your skin, massage the product, this will help with absorption, any puffiness, and give your skin that glass skin appearance. Now for the makeup step, follow with a glow boosting primer, the new Catrice Skin Glaze Hydrating primer is absolutely perfect for this technique. It illuminates with a pearl finish, makes makeup long lasting, and its a vegan and cruelty free formula. I like to go a bit extra glow, so next for the base, choose a really luminous and reflective foundation base product. The perfect pair to the Skin Glaze serum primer is Catrice’s new Soft Glam Filter Fluid. There maybe a lot of these types of products on the market, but Catrice’s has some of the best shades. Especially if you are really pale. This is a sheer/medium coverage, so I would also spot conceal in areas that need it. Follow using your usual brightening concealer and set with minimal powder.

I also recommend using a luminous blush and bronzer to go seamless with the glass skin glow. My choice would be Catrice’s Soft Glam Baked Blush. For bronzer, try Catrice’s Melted Sun Cream Bronzer. There you have it the glass skin face! Maintain the look by carrying around a pressed powder and powdering the areas that become too oily
What is looksmaxxing?
- “Looksmaxxing” is basically making yourself look like the best version of yourself. This may involve facial exercises, massages, icing your face, skincare routine, etc. Anything that will add to looking your very best.
What are some of your favorite ways to feel like your best self? in terms of makeup?

- If I need to look like my best self with makeup, I’m starting with a glowy base with a sheer to medium amount of coverage. I would reach for a foundation like Catrice’s Soft Glam Filter Fluid, which is ultra lightweight, radiant, and keeps my dry skin hydrated throughout the day. I would lean on the sheerer side and blend well using either a dense brush or beauty sponge. Like everyone, I have darker undereyes, so I would put a bit of concealer. Next, adding some color to the face, I definitely need that to look not washed out (pale girl who rarely sees the outside here). Cream bronzer is my best friend, so I’ll grab some Catrice’s Melted Sun Cream and bounce it across my forehead, the sides of my cheeks, and a bit down my nose. Next, we need some blush, I still very much prefer cream. I will set the my undereyes and sides of my nose lightly, which also helps blur any pores or unwanted lines on my face. I won’t do much to my eyes, but I do like a little brown sparkle to my lids, the new Catrice Coral Crush Slim Eyeshadow Palette has just the right colors for this. Then I’ll curl my lashes and apply a lengthening mascara. To look my best, I will not overly fill in my eyebrows, a tinted fiber gel is what I prefer.

Now my lips are my favorite feature and I love a little pop of color on them. I will overline slightly on my cupids bow and bottom lip using Catrice’s Plumping Lip Liner in a nude shade and follow with a tinted lip oil. The red shade, Drama Mama, from Catrice’s new Glossin’ Glow Tinted Lip Oil is the perfect amount of color and shine for my best self makeup look! There you have its, my go to best self makeup look.
What do you think kids and teens should keep in mind when they're consuming this kind of content?
- You know it’s funny because I do think about this a lot. When I was growing up, there was not this kind of content all over the place! My mom let me finally wear some mascara and lip gloss when I was in middle school, but now kids and teens are seeing all this makeup and skincare material and they think they have to do all that. I think they need to keep in mind, not to do that much! No one needs makeup, and especially not young children and teens. Enjoy your natural beauty and youthful skin! Honestly, we’re all trying to replicate what we once had when we were all younger. It’s a little backwards to see really young people doing the same techniques, when they already have it. I sound like an old person saying this, but enjoy being the age that you are. Maybe it sounds weird coming from a makeup artist, but I love natural faces and beauty.
