A look for all holiday occasions

We all have big plans for the holidays, but they don’t always pan out. Case in point: office party makeup. Despite my home trial run and an arsenal of product, I always end up in the ladies room with a 10-minute window to make magic happen. This year, committed to finding THE look, I rediscovered a classic: glowing skin, sophisticated eyes, bold lip. It’s a holiday look that not only suits the office party, but a girl’s night out and dinner with the in-laws as well.

Step 1: Glowing skin

At the end of the workday my skin has lost its shine, but with a few key products I can create a glowing canvas for the rest of my holiday look. After giving my T-zone a pat down, I apply a thin base of Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer. It illuminates and evens out my skin tone while giving me a glow-from-within look. Then I will spot treat dark circles and imperfections with the Liquid Camouflage Concealer, followed by the HD Liquid Coverage Foundation to further perfect my canvas for this naturally glowing look. Using a beauty blender, it provides an ultra light, high coverage that is long wearing; perfect for long holiday party nights.

Though contouring and highlighting on a time crunch might seem like a bad idea, with the Prime & Fine Contouring Duo Stick, it’s a much easier proposition. Using this buttery product, I’ll “draw on” and blend the contour product in the hollows of my cheeks and along my jawline. Highlighter goes on my cheekbones and brow bones. To set, I use a loose powder like Nude Illusion Loose Powder.

Step 2: Sophisticated eyes

If you are the sort who can do a cat eye in their sleep, now is the time. I, however, am not. So, I start my sophisticated holiday eye with a wash of a light colored eyeshadow up to the crease. I like the Essential Nude Eyeshadow Palette for its array of colors. Then, using a product like Catrice 18H Color & Contour Eye Pencil, I’ll gently line the upper lid, finishing a little beyond the outer corner with a small wing. For evening, shade 010 in black will do.. For daytime, I use 020 Absolute Greyziness. For jumbo lashes, I’ll use a volumizing mascara like Prêt-À-Volume Mascara.

Step 3: Bold lip

The holiday spirit of this look is embodied in a juicy red lip. Anything from a classic siren red to a deep berry will do. For added depth – with incredible ease – I use Catrice Ombré Two Tone Lipstick in 040 Not Expired Yet. The square shape of the lipstick means that the argan oil infused product is applied with great precision. To kick things up a notch during cocktail hour, I’ll pat some high shine gloss into the center too.

Now you're ready to rock that holiday party dance floor!
